About Joe O'Donnell

Joe joined Urban Plates in July 2015 as Chief Operating Officer. Joe brings more than 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry to Urban Plates. Prior to joining the company, he spent 18 years in leadership roles with Ruth's Chris Steak House, including serving as Vice President of Operations for the Western U.S. During his time at Ruth's Chris, Joe was extensively involved in all phases of operations including culinary, project management, special leadership training, team development, franchise relations and new restaurant openings, and also led their award-winning beverage program.

He has served as a Board Member of the California Restaurant Association for two decades. Joe served as Chairman of the California Restaurant Association for 2025/2026.

A native of Ireland, Joe resides in San Diego with his wife, Marie.
